UK Aviation Non-CO2 Research Programme Coordination
8 July 2026 | ZEROGeoengineering.com |UK’s £30M (30 million pounds) Aviation Non-CO2 Research Programme is scheduled from December 2024 through March 2028. Sponsors and partners include: Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI), Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), Department for Transport (DfT), and Department for Business and Trade (DBT). The programme is in support of industry and academic research. According to the website, “The coordination team provides strategic direction, integrates findings to offer higher-level insights, and facilitates engagement with government (especially DfT and DBT), industry, NGOs and international experts.”

“Our research clients include international organizations from around the world including governmental research organizations (including NATO, NASA, ONERA, ESA.), industrial aerospace primes (including Boeing, Airbus, BAe Systems, Vertical Aerospace) and car manufacturers (including Ford and Red Bull). Our team of academics, many of whom have spent time in industry, undertake both fundamental research as well as development work in real projects with industry – such as the INVICTUS hypersonic test be aircraft for the European Space Agency.”

Though the UK policy states that the government “is not deploying SRM [Solar Radiation Modification], and has no plans to do so,” UK’s current policy actually authorizes SAI [Stratospheric Aerosol Injection] and other polluting outdoor experiments characterized as “research,” such as described above, without free and informed public consent.

“…the bands in the light blue area, that’s new! The red bands are in the cumulus region as ‘usual’, while the blue ones are at a much lower altitude. I’ve never seen anything like this in satellite data before. The image shows the Atlantic Ocean near Europe. Ireland and Great Britain are visible at the top, France on the far right…Great Britain seems to be influencing the weather across vast areas using radio frequencies…”
