SAI Session at Climate Cooling Summit 2026
17 September 2026 | ZEROGeoengineering.com | Geoengineering governance matters. | Policymakers, scientists, industry leaders, and international experts met at an invitation-only high-level policy dialogue on August 4, 2026 held in New Delhi, India to discuss climate intervention strategies including Stratospheric Aerosol Injection (SAI). The SAI panel was led by Janos Pasztor, former UN Assistant Secretary-General for climate change and former executive director of the Carnegie Climate governance initiative.
A long time proponent of geoengineering research governance initiatives, Mr. Pasztor confirmed that startups, nonprofits, and for-profit entities are conducting R&D, as well as UNESCO ( United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), OECD (The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development), UNEP (The United Nations Environment Programme), and the WMO (World Meteorological Organization).
Regarding SAI Pasztor stated, “Now we are focusing on SAI, on the technology, but I will not hide my view that it is important not to focus too much on the technology but try to think of what problem we are trying to solve so that we can get to the right answer…”
Check out these time stamps:
3:00 – startups/nonprofits/for profit are doing R&D.
UNESCO, OECD, UNEP, WMO are all doing some level of this.
Governance needed and then implementation governance needed.
22:50 You cannot test SAI w/o actually doing it.
27:30 SAI would decrease in monsoon rainfall, but have to find the “handshake” compromise to reduce temps.
34:10 METHANE reduction needed in addition to CO2.
34:32 SAI would impact the solar sector w/umbrella aerosols.

Geoengineering is a doorway to global governance. Currently unelected academics and NGO’s are promoting climate intervention experimentation and research governance.
Without enforceable laws, populations are subject to involuntary experimentation without consent.
