NASA Airborne Science Program
7 August 2026 | ZEROGeoengineering.com | The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is a federally funded ICAMS weather research agency. Some of NASA’s current programs, schedules, and mission tools are provided in the following documentation. According to the Payload Information Form below, research activities may involve payloads of chemicals, microwave radiation and other hazardous materials in a Globally Harmonized System (GHS). Principal Investigators (PI) and Team Members may or may not be U.S. citizens.
Atmospheric experimentation is itself a SOURCE of pollution. Absent enforceable laws to protect our atmosphere, NASA and partners will continue to use our sky as an open air science laboratory.

C-130 NSF/NCAR The NSF/NCAR
C-130 is ideal for studies of the middle and lower troposphere. In a typical research configuration, it carries 13,000 pounds of payload with 8 to 9 hour endurance, and there is considerable flexibility in adjusting payload and range to meet specific mission requirements.

First operations are planned for FY2027 from NASA Langley Research Center. This unique flying laboratory will have truly global reach enabling data collection for NASA projects to include sensor development, satellite sensor calibration, data product validation, and field studies to better understand earth system processes to improve models and decision-making. Useful payload: 75,000 lbs

“1. The purpose of the PIF is to allow instrument Principal Investigators (PIs) a simple and efficient method to provide NASA aircraft engineering (AE) with instrument or sensor information that is sufficient to start the instrument integration process.”

1. Principal Investigator & Team Members (if citizenship is not US, please note if they have a green card):

“ll. Hazardous Materials/Equipment All gases, cryogens, and chemicals are user supplied unless otherwise arranged. Safety Data Sheet (SDS) will be required prior to arrival. All hazardous materials must have Globally Harmonized System (GHS) labeling.”

7. Chemicals (solids and liquids)
