Italian “Blue Skies” Initiative to Prohibit Geoengineering Activities

The initiative states: “The term “weather modification” means any injection, release, emission or dispersion of a chemical, chemical compound or substance, or transport of an apparatus into the atmosphere with the express purpose of: (i) producing an artificial change in the composition, behavior or dynamics of the atmosphere; or (ii) affect the temperature, weather, climate, or intensity of sunlight. (B) EXAMPLES — This term includes: (i) geoengineering; (ii) cloud seeding; (iii) modification and management of solar radiation; and (iv) the release of an aerosol into the atmosphere to affect temperature, precipitation, or the intensity of sunlight.”

Whether enacted by the Italian Parliament, TITLE This Act may be referred to as “Blue Skies”. PROHIBITION ON MODIFICATION OF WEATHER CONDITIONS (GEOENGINEERING)
