When fully loaded, the remotely piloted fleet of drones each weigh between 90 and 170 pounds. Industrial spray drones are designed to disperse large volumes of liquid onto a defined target area inside a pre-programmed GPS guided path. Each unit can saturate 15 acres in eight minutes at low altitude, carrying up to 31 gallons of spray liquid.
Though purposed for agriculture or weather modification, it’s clear that these vehicles may be weaponized and used to cause harm. States must take responsibility to protect our shared airspace with transparency and accountability.
