Kentucky HB506 Introduced Prohibiting SRM Geoengineering
February 9, 2024 | Zero Geoengineering | Kentucky House Bill HB506 AN ACT relating to geoengineering was introduced today pursuant to the Tenth Amendment which would prohibit the release of polluting emissions into the Commonwealth’s atmosphere through geoengineering, cloud seeding, weather modification or any other means. Kentucky is the 5th state this year (New Hampshire, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Illinois) where constituents and their state policymakers are taking legislative action rejecting federal governance of SRM experimentation mandates. Solar Radiation Modification (SRM) and Stratospheric Aerosol Injection (SAI) involve the intentional release of chemical aerosols and other hazardous emissions, including electromagnetic radiation pollution – without public consent.
“To preserve the safe and healthful uses of the Commonwealth’s atmosphere for its people, environment, and agriculture, and to improve beneficial climate efforts, it is necessary to prohibit geoengineering and to provide for enforcement and penalties for violative activities.”
