Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia provide precedent from the 1960’s for prohibiting and preventing cloud seeding and weather modification activities.

In 2024 12 USA states introduced legislation to prohibit solar radiation modification (SRM) and other polluting atmospheric interventions, with Tennessee passing legislation to ban geoengineering. Over 30 States have introduced measures to address weather modification policy in 2025. Research legislation HERE.
