Europe – Solar Radiation Modification: Governance of Research
July 16, 2023 | ZeroGeoengineering.com | Horizon Europe Work Programme 2023-2024 report includes discussion of governance framework for Solar Radiation Modification (SRM).
Factors of consideration mention legal issues (e.g. liability for impacts), decision-making processes (e.g. who gets to decide?), as well as acknowledging existing and ongoing research.
While “stakeholder” consultation is woven into the outline, conspicuously absent from consideration is the lack of public consent and environmental protection from SRM.
