“There is two methods for chemical release:
There are two types:
1] Burn in place flare.
2] Ejectable flares.
Burn in place flares: These are attached on the aircraft and triggered through ignition. In this type of releases mechanism, the chemical is burned and the smoke is released in the atmosphere. Chemicals like sodium iodide and potassium iodine are used.”

“It is a method of artificial rain by injecting chemicals or zapped by electricity to create fake rain. It is a method in which changes are made in the weather that results in rain. It is successfully attempted in 1923 by W.D Bancroft for the first time.in cloud seeding, certain chemicals are sent to the sky around already existing clouds. The chemicals that are sent are silver iodide; potassium iodide and dry ice are sent through planes to the atmosphere. These chemicals increase the rate of condensation i.e. the water vapor is attracted by these chemicals which leads to the formation of cumulonimbus clouds and eventually results in rainfall. This process takes half an hour to produce rain….
Harmful Effects
Cloud seeding can be harmful to the environment. Cloud seeding can lead to Ozone layer depletion high rate of atmospheric Co2, acidification of the oceans. The chemical used in cloud seeding silver is a toxic metal that is harmful to plants, humans, and animals cloud seeding is costly also a foot of rainfall costs around 200 dollars.” Link
