• Overseeding, i.e., producing ice crystals inside clouds in concentrations many times those of naturally generated ice, brings about a situation an abrupt increase of the number of simultaneously growing precipitation particles is accompanied by a marked slowdown in their growth and a reduction of their falling speed. This, in turn, leads to noticeable temporary reduction of precipitation.  P. 35
