lightning suppression requires the production of enormous quantities of silver
iodide nuclei. These nuclei may be dispersed either from ground- based
equipment or from similar equipment mounted in aircraft.”

According to PubChem, silver iodide (AgI) is an environmental hazard and is a combustible agent.
According to PubMed, no studies have considered the continued use of cloud seeding with AgI on the same geographical areas and the potential cumulative effect of AgI on the environment and biota. Additionally, AgI is found to cause DNA damage.
